Fireworks Festival Opens in Da Nang
The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival opened in Vietnam on Saturday as teams lit up the Han River in the first show of this year’s competition.

Footage shows fireworks exploding over the Han River as large crowds gathered along the riverbanks to watch the opening night. People are later seen filming the display on their phones.
Spectators Praise Opening Night Display
“I watch the fireworks festival every year, but the Vietnamese team’s performance this year was much better than last year. I didn’t think it could be this amazing. I’m speechless, it was simply fantastic,” an attendee said.

“The atmosphere here is very lively, a lot of people have gathered and are all looking forward to this festival,” added a second.
Tourism and International Competition
The festival runs until 11 July under the theme ‘Da Nang – United Horizons’ and features two local teams from Vietnam and eight international teams competing across six specific competition nights.

Organisers said the aim is to boost tourism in the city during the summer period. Local authorities expected the event to attract thousands of visitors each night and support hotels and riverside businesses.
Global Teams Set to Compete
The festival, first held in 2008, has become one of Vietnam’s biggest annual events.
On opening night, Vietnam faced defending champions China in the first competition show.

More international teams from France, Japan and Italy will compete in the coming weeks as the festival continues every Saturday until mid-July.
