US President Set for Talks With Xi Jinping
This week, all eyes turn to China as Donald Trump gets set for his landmark visit and talks with China’s Xi Jinping, coming on May 13-15.

It marks the first visit by a US leader in almost a decade. The two last met in Busan, South Korea in October, where they hit ‘pause’ on an escalating tariffs war.
Trade and Strategic Issues Expected on Agenda
Trade talks this time will see the US keen to extend China’s suspension of export controls on rare earths – agreed last time around – as well as potential deals on planes, agriculture and energy.

Discussions are also predicted to cover the Iran war – which Trump repeatedly insisted would be resolved before his visit – plus nuclear weapons, and Taiwan.
Footage Revisits Earlier Trump-Xi Meetings
Video also includes their meetings and press conferences from Trump’s first term, at the US president’s home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida and in Beijing in 2017, and from the 2019 G20 in Osaka.
