A 19-year-old foreign man has been charged in Malaysia with allegedly raping a 61-year-old woman after reportedly breaking into her home and attacking her. The case was heard at the Sessions Court in Sandakan, Sabah. The accused, identified as Alimanja Arioski, appeared before the court on Friday.

According to the charge, Alimanja is accused of raping the local woman at a house in Batu 7, Sandakan, at about 1.30am on March 21. Authorities filed the charge under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code. The law carries a prison sentence of up to 20 years and may also include whipping if the accused is found guilty.
Court Awaits Medical Report
Although the teenager admitted to the charge during proceedings, Judge Roslinda Razali did not accept the plea immediately. The court decided to wait for a complete medical report before taking further action.

The case has been fixed for mention again on July 27. Deputy Public Prosecutor Jasmin Walter handled the prosecution, while the accused appeared in court without legal representation.
Details Of The Alleged Attack
The accused was allegedly able to get into the elderly woman’s home through a window, according to court documents. He allegedly threatened her with a pair of scissors, choked her, punched her in the face, and tied her hands. The incident reportedly left the victim injured.
The prosecution had also said that the accused raped the woman and took away a few valuables before he fled. The stolen items included a gold bracelet and two mobile phones. Investigators estimated the victim’s losses at around RM20,000 (approximately SGD6,100).
Earlier Conviction In Same Incident
A day before the court heard the rape charge, judges sentenced Alimanja to 14 years in prison and eight strokes of the cane after he pleaded guilty to robbery and causing injury to the same victim.

Judge Roslinda ordered the prison sentence to begin on the date of his arrest, March 21. The court also ordered officials to refer the accused to the Malaysian Immigration Department after he completes his sentence.
Prosecutors charged Alimanja under Section 394 of the Penal Code for the robbery offense, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and may include a fine or whipping upon conviction.
