Unexpected Rat Encounter
A video showing a male employee at a McDonald’s restaurant in Taiwan catching a live rat with his bare hands has attracted widespread attention online. The unusual incident took place inside a restaurant and was captured on camera by a customer.

The footage shows a rat moving along a metal railing besides a glass window inside the outlet. Customers nearby appeared to notice the animal as it moved through the dining area. A member of staff was immediately at the scene and responded appropriately.
Employee Acts Quickly
The employee walked directly towards the rat without using equipment or waiting for help. The animal kept going along the railing, and he had suddenly hit it with one hand, trapping it against the railing.

The employee quickly caught the rat with no attempt to harm it. The employee was able to capture the rat without causing harm and was doing so in a calm manner. Then away he went from the area carrying the animal in his hand. The whole episode only took a few seconds but soon became a subject of discussion.
Nearby customers were not seen to be in any panic when the video was played. The employee seemed calm and confident in the unexpected situation in the restaurant.
Restaurant Hygiene Concerns
A rat sighting in a food establishment has led to questions regarding pest and cleanliness control. Restaurants will regularly be inspected and rodent control measures are typically implemented to prevent potential rodent intrusion into food preparation areas or eating areas.

The video didn’t show how the rat got into the restaurant or if it was spotted by any employees before. Authorities did not immediately disclose the exact location of the branch or when the incident occurred.
Viral Footage Draws Attention
Videos of odd events in public places often have much public interest, particularly if it involves an unexpected response from employees. In this instance, the message was the employee’s prompt response and his choice to not wear protective clothing to deal with the rat.
As of the reporting time, nothing official had been issued about the incident. It also remained unclear whether authorities conducted any additional inspections or pest control measures after staff removed the rat from the restaurant.
