At a gas station in Singapore, a heartwarming moment unfolded when a Johorean man, stranded with a punctured tyre, found help from a kind-hearted Singaporean. Unable to fix it himself, he approached a fellow biker for assistance.
Fortunately, Naem Rohman, who later shared the encounter on Instagram, happened to be there at the right time. Armed with the necessary tools and expertise, he quickly stepped in and helped patch the tyre
The Role of Essential Tools
In similar situations, the right tools are key to completing any repair task. In this case, Naem had the essential tools with him, including a wrench and a special plug tool designed to fix punctures quickly and effectively.
Much like in the video, where clamps and measuring devices ensure precise work, the Singaporean biker used a specialised tool to repair the puncture.
Even though the Johorean referred to it as a “gun”, the biker understood what was needed and got to work with the correct instruments, showing how important it is to have the right tools on hand for these kinds of emergencies.
The Process of Patching a Tyre
To repair a punctured tyre, certain steps need to be followed to ensure a secure and reliable fix. In the video, Naem began by locating the puncture. While soapy water is often used to identify the leaking spot (bubbles form where the air escapes), in this situation, the man relied on water and his hand to detect the hole.
Next, the repair involved using a unique tool—a thick needle-like instrument (T-Handle Tools) designed to insert a rubber strip into the tyre. This tool creates a slightly larger hole to fit the rubber plug, which is used to seal the puncture.
Naem then inserted the strip into the hole, carefully making sure it was secure. After cutting off the excess material hanging from the tyre, the job was done.
Though it’s considered a temporary solution, these kinds of repairs can last quite a while when done properly. This quick fix will also enable the Johorean to continue his journey safely.
Temporary Fix, Long-Term Impact
While some say the fix is technically temporary, one commenter pointed out that these repairs can be surprisingly durable. Moreover, these fixes are versatile, working not only for motorcycles but also for cars.
Comments and Reactions
Acts like this are common within the biking community, where camaraderie and a willingness to assist one another are highly valued.
Viewers commented and reacted towards this video, mostly praising Naem for his quick actions in helping the Johorean.
While some humorously stated that the initial question by the Johorean shocked them.
Another expressed their surprise that this biker had the kit with him and stated they would have just called a mechanic instead.
