A woman expecting a wholesome encounter with a Silkie chicken got something else entirely after the bird suddenly rushed towards her and pecked at her.

Instead of a gentle Disney-style moment, the fluffy chicken quickly ran up to her and delivered a peck, leaving viewers amused.
“I Thought He Wanted To Cuddle”
The clip attracted thousands of reactions, with many saying they had experienced similar encounters.
One commenter wrote: “I KNOW THIS PLACE. I USED TO WORK HERE, AND THE CHICKEN CHASED ME ALL THE WAY.”

Another joked, “Thought you were about to have a Disney moment, but bro charged you.”
Others claimed the bird was a familiar local character.
“This chicken is the self-proclaimed security guard of that entrance,” one user commented. “It does this to almost every passerby when it’s around.”
Why Do Chickens Peck?
Despite looking soft and fluffy, chickens peck as part of their normal behaviour.
They use pecking to establish dominance, defend territory, explore their surroundings, or respond to perceived threats.

A chicken charging towards someone does not necessarily mean it is being aggressive. In many cases, it is simply acting on instinct, protecting its space, or investigating something that caught its attention.
Silkie chickens are generally considered one of the more docile breeds, although individual birds can still display assertive behaviour.
Chickens Aren’t The Only Ones
Anyone who has spent time around farm animals may know that geese have an even stronger reputation.

Like chickens, geese can become territorial and may hiss, chase, or nip when they feel threatened or want to defend their space.
So while the woman may not have gotten the friendly animal encounter she expected, many viewers seemed to agree that the Silkie’s confident sprint made the video even funnier.
