A TikTok video by user @eyerv went viral, revealing a surprising scene in a parking lot of The Exchange, TRX. After dinner, the original poster (OP) and her friend were shocked to find their white Volkswagen Beetle soaked by water from a broken pipe directly above it.
The Discovery
Upon entering the parking garage, the friends noticed a foul odor. Approaching their vehicle, they saw water cascading from one of the pipes.
The video captions narrate their experience: “We came back from dinner and look what happened to our car,” followed by the revelation, “We were wondering why the car park smelt bad, but didn’t realize it was from the broken toilet pipe above our car.”
The video vividly shows water pouring from the broken pipe, completely soaking the Volkswagen Beetle. The two friends, initially puzzled by the smell, later identified it as coming from the broken toilet pipe. This unfortunate situation turned what was supposed to be a relaxing evening into a nightmare.
Reactions and comments
As a response to this incident the women jokingly captioned, “TRX Exchange, we demand a year of free car wash and parking.”
The video gained quick attention on TikTok and as of the time of writing, the video has 711.4k views with 776 comments expressing similar experiences, sympathy, and shock at the incident.
One commentator shared their experience, saying, “It happened to me too, and I had just washed my car.”
Some jokingly stated that the parking lot had a new feature in which they provide free car wash with another user responding, “Free car air freshener also.”
One user who initially thought it was normal water instead of toilet water jokingly told her to ask management for a brand new car.
Updates from the management
In her recent TikTok update, she clarified that the management determined the leakage on her car was not from a toilet but from a pipe carrying food sewage from a restaurant.
Despite her request for supporting documents from the management, she received no response. As compensation for the incident, the management offered a free car wash once a week for a year. However, she is still responsible for paying the parking fees, as her initial request to have those fees waived went unanswered.
