Until rust do us part – Russia’s first robot wedding takes place in Moscow’s Pushkin Library

They vowed to live happily ever after, until the battery died. Russia’s first robot wedding ceremony took place at the Pushkin Library in Moscow on Thursday.

Footage shows blogger Robert and ballerina Matilda exchanging vows and fastening bracelets instead of rings. The bride is also seen performing a wedding dance.

Humanoid Robots Highlight Future Technology

IT Imperial Deputy CEO Anna Bagdasaryan said events featuring humanoid robots can help draw attention to the benefits of new technology.

“We can make our society better and more automated, and shape a post industrial society where people can live in harmony, leaving more time for art, creativity, and harmony.

 Robots, in fact, help with automation and free people from routine labor,” Bagdasaryan noted.She added that IT Imperial manufactures devices with open systems, allowing users to programme their own robot behaviour algorithms.

 

Robot Wedding Promotes AI Awareness

The company’s press office said the wedding was dedicated to Family, Love and Fidelity Day.

 Management also donated books on robotics, artificial intelligence and automation to the library, saying the aim was to help readers better understand modern technologies.
