Voters Call for Political Change Across Britain
Britons reacted on Friday to the local election results, with the anti-immigration Reform Party emerging as a major winner and delivering a major blow to Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labour Party.
“I think people want change from basic Labour and Conservative governments […] people are desperate for something to be changed,” said on local in London, noting that Starmer is under increasing pressure following the controversy over the appointment of Peter Mandelson.

Another local said that the Reform Party was tapping into the concerns of younger voters.
“The fight is literally Reform and Green at the minute. I think they’ve (Labour) been in power, and no one’s seen any difference,” she added.
Public Frustration Grows Over Labour Leadership
Another noted that Starmer has failed to deliver on his campaign promises, noting that “our roads are the worst that they’ve ever been” while “our homeless situation at the moment is absolutely diabolical.”

He added that the Reform UK party is “offering things that the other parties aren’t.” “They’re trying to tackle the whole immigration issue at the moment,” he added, noting that he didn’t believe in a halt to migration, but rather an overhaul to the system to ensure only those worthy are allowed into the UK.
Reform UK Leads as Election Results Continue
The local elections are being viewed as a test of public opinion before the next general election in 2029.
At the time of publication, the results of 4,219 seats out of 5,036 were in, with Reform UK taking the lead with 1,364 seats. Labour was trailing with 874, while the Liberal Democrats had 717.

Starmer is already under pressure to quit over the scandal involving his Epstein-linked former US ambassador, as well as rows over immigration chaos, blighted public services, as well as the spiralling cost of living, further exacerbated by the Iran war.
