A 72 year old Penang woman has begun the Year of the Dragon with a bang. The housewife won over S$12.9 million in the Sports Toto Lotto 6/58 draw on January 28 and she became a multimillionaire.
What made the win even more unexpected was how she chose her numbers. Instead of analysing trends or following any special system, she relied entirely on computer-generated “Lucky Pick” numbers.
According to the woman, she bought the ticket purely for fun and never imagined it would change her life. She noticed the jackpot had climbed past RM40 million, which caught her eye while she was out running daily errands. As she had done many times before, she decided to try her luck.
Playing Toto Since the 1980s
The woman is reported to have been purchasing Toto tickets since as early as the 1980s. It had been a little habit over the decades as she made her habitual shopping. She would visit a Toto outlet without much thought on draw days and consider it as the type of light entertainment.
She picked a System 10 ticket on Lucky Pick numbers on the day of the winning. She replied that the choice was not made due to any special reason. It was unplanned, an unanticipated decision. To her it was another day in a normal life until the results of a normal day appeared.
An Awakening Night and a Shocking Discovery.
The winner even remembered that she could not sleep well on the night of the draw. Being agitated, she woke up early in the morning and decided to check her ticket. The moment gradually lost its reality as she compared the numbers one by one.
She was shocked when the six numbers coincided, that is, 19, 29, 32, 39, 40, and 54. She replied that her hands were shaking and she had checked to be sure. She was excited that she could not sleep the remainder of the night with the reality of her win slowly sinking.
Not Only the Jackpot Prize.
Her winnings did not end with the main jackpot since she was purchasing a System 10 ticket. She was also a winner of smaller prizes belonging to other categories.
It began with a modest Lucky Pick ticket, but turned out to be a lotto ticket of the century. Even the winner herself said that it was something that she never expected to happen.
The After-Win Keys to Simple Living.
The woman subsequently went to Kuala Lumpur to receive the prize with her husband. The couple said that they do not intend to spend money in luxury despite the immense money. They like to keep the money in their pockets and lead life as usual.
