Brazil trained at Granja Comary in Teresopolis on Thursday, as Carlo Ancelotti continued preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
The session was Brazil’s second under the Italian coach since the squad gathered at the Brazilian Football Confederation’s training centre in the mountains of Rio de Janeiro state.
Players took part in physical conditioning, recovery work and tactical meetings as Ancelotti looked to build cohesion before Brazil’s World Cup opener.
“He seeks the best for the group. He never focuses on individualistic issues and thinks about the team, connecting and creating a good atmosphere,” goalkeeper Weverton Pereira da Silva said at a press conference.
“We have the responsibility to get the national team out of this crisis, to represent the country, the nation, in the World Cup,” he added.
Much of the attention remained on Neymar, who missed training after undergoing medical tests on his right calf. The CBF said the forward had been sent to a private clinic in Teresopolis for imaging exams.
It was later reported that Neymar had sustained a grade-two calf injury, ruling him out of Brazil’s warm-up friendlies and making him unlikely to feature in the opening World Cup match against Morocco.
Brazil will complete their preparations with home friendlies against Panama on May 31 and Egypt on June 5, before opening their World Cup campaign against Morocco at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on June 13.
