Simple Chore Turns into Horror
An elderly man in Johor encountered a horrifying incident and was violently threw several meters away after being hit by a car on Wednesday morning (7 May 2025).
The retiree, 61-year-old Muhamad Mustaffa Mustain, had been sweeping the roadside area in front of his house at Taman Tiara Perdana, Simpang Renggam, around 8.30 am when the accident happened.

Incident Caught on CCTV
A 20-second CCTV clip capturing the crash has gone viral on social media. It shows Muhamad Mustaffa sweeping the front of his house before a red car suddenly appears and hits him without warning.
Car Slammed Into Him and an Electricity Pole
According to Sinar Harian, a red Toyota suddenly lost control and rammed into Muhamad Mustaffa while he was sweeping. The force of the crash threw him several meters away from where he stood.

However, the car didn’t stop there; it went on to crash into a nearby electricity pole, breaking it in half, along with the wires.

The vehicle was driven by a 37-year-old nurse who also lives in the same housing area.
Police: Driver Lost Control of Vehicle
Kluang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh said early findings indicate the driver lost control of her car as she approached the area near the victim’s house.
Photos circulating online showed the car’s front bumper severely damaged from the crash.

The car also crashed into an electricity pole not far from the impact point.

Victim Seriously Injured, Both Sent to Hospital
Muhamad Mustaffa suffered serious injuries, including a broken left leg and a wound on his forehead. The nurse, on the other hand, suffered chest pains following the crash.

Both were taken to Hospital Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom (HEBHK) for further treatment.
