Monkey Snatches Student’s Phone at Ngee Ann Polytechnic

In a bizarre yet amusing incident at Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) on July 24th at 9:45 AM, a monkey snatched a student’s phone, causing quite a commotion. Wake Up Singapore reached out to the student, Pierre, a 19-year-old polytechnic student, to get a firsthand account of the unusual event.

Monkey Mayhem on Campus

The incident unfolded while Pierre was walking on campus with his phone and wallet by his side. He recounted, “I was walking with my phone and wallet by my side and looking straight when the monkey came outta nowhere and snatched my phone out my hands.” The monkey even paused Pierre’s music and took the phone out of its case.

Quick Thinking Saves the Day

Pierre’s quick thinking helped him retrieve his phone. “He got scared when I moved a bit and tried to lunge at me, which made him drop my phone,” he explained. Pierre then scared the monkey away by stepping his foot near it until it retreated quite far. Thankfully, Pierre managed to get his phone back without any damage.
