The search for six-year-old Albertine Leo Jia Hui, who went missing from the Eco Galleria business center in Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru, on Saturday, July 20, has concluded with a positive outcome. Jia Hui has been found safe in Batang Kali, Selangor, a significant distance from where she was last seen.
Details of the Discovery
Jia Hui was located in a secure condition at a site in Batang Kali, Selangor, as confirmed by Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan. An official statement regarding the recovery will be issued shortly, according to Harian Metro.
Ongoing Investigation and Recent Developments
Yesterday, July 22, Johor Police detained three individuals to assist with the investigation. Two men and one woman, aged between 28 and 55, were apprehended around 1:30 PM in the Gelang Patah area of Iskandar Puteri. They were brought to the Johor Baru Court Complex and are expected to be remanded to facilitate further investigation, as reported by NST and Bernama.

The investigation had been conducted under Section 365 of the Penal Code, which addresses kidnapping or abduction with the intent to secretly and wrongfully confine a person. The case was reclassified from a missing person report to a more serious charge.
Public Advisory
With Jia Hui’s safe return, Johor Police Chief CP M. Kumar has urged the public to remain cautious about spreading speculation that could hinder the investigation. He expressed appreciation for the community’s assistance and cooperation throughout the search.
Initial Appeal for Assistance
Before the positive update, Iskandar Puteri Police Chief ACP M. Kumarasan had appealed to the public for help in locating Jia Hui. She was reported missing by her father at approximately 8:30 PM on the day she disappeared.
Jia Hui is described as 120 cm tall, with long black hair, fair skin, and a moderately slim build. She was last seen wearing shorts and a white t-shirt featuring a ‘Mickey Mouse’ graphic.
