Authorities in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, Malaysia, had the shock of their lives when they discovered a homeless man living inside a closed drainage system.
The makeshift shelter, hidden beneath a cardboard cover, was found during an inspection by enforcement officers from the Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP).
A Hidden Living Space
According to a video originally uploaded on TikTok by MBSP enforcement officer Azrie, officers lifted a piece of cardboard covering the drain’s entrance and uncovered a small but organized living space.
Inside, they found a bed with a mattress and a yellow blanket neatly arranged. Not only that, a small metal rack and several household items, including bottles of used cooking oil, were also present.

The footage quickly gained attention on social media but was later removed from TikTok.
However, several users who had seen the video managed to save and reupload it on Facebook and other social media platforms.

While it is unclear what happened to the homeless man after the discovery, the situation sheds light on the struggles faced by those without proper shelter.
