Dangerous Stunt Captured on Camera
Police officers in Malaysia arrested a twenty-six-year-old factory worker after a video showing him pulling off a reckless stunt on his motorcycle blew up across social media platforms.
The incident took place along the busy Darul Aman Highway in the city of Alor Setar, Kedah. In the seventeen-second clip, the man lifts the front wheel of his Honda EX5 high into the air, riding on just one wheel while speeding along the public road late at night.
Extreme Risk to Four-Year-Old Child
What made the situation far worse was that the rider was not alone on the bike while executing the dangerous maneuver. His twenty-five-year-old wife was sitting behind him on the passenger seat, while his four-year-old daughter was balanced right in front near the handlebars.
The young girl was not wearing any helmet or protective safety gear, leaving her totally exposed to catastrophic physical harm or death if the motorcycle lost balance or flipped over on the road.
Police Investigation and Arrest
Local police opened an official inquiry after seeing the short clip spread quickly across various online platforms. Officers from the Kota Setar district traffic police tracked down the suspect and picked him up on July 22 at the local traffic police headquarters.
Cops later learned through their initial investigations that the dangerous ride actually happened back on March 28 around midnight, when the family was heading out together on the bike to get some food at a local shop.
Severe Legal Consequences Ahead
The suspect was locked up in custody for twenty-four hours before getting released on police bail, and officers confiscated the motorcycle used in the video clip. Authorities are handling the case under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving on public roads.
If convicted in court, the rider faces up to five years in prison, steep fines ranging between five thousand and fifteen thousand Malaysian ringgit, and a mandatory five-year ban from holding a driving license.
