Pre-Dawn Crash In Selangor
A 21-year-old trailer driver died after a collision involving two heavy vehicles near Kampung Tebuk Marso in Sungai Besar, Selangor, on July 17.
The accident occurred at approximately 2:49 AM when a Volvo trailer transporting a shipping container collided with a Hino trailer on the main road. The driver of the Hino trailer, which was carrying 36 tonnes of steel, escaped the heavy collision without suffering any physical injuries.
Pregnant Passenger Rescued
The victim’s 26-year-old wife was traveling in the Volvo trailer during the collision. She suffered minor injuries and was pulled to safety by local bystanders before firefighters reached the scene.
Documentation noted she is expecting a baby in two months. She was later taken to a nearby hospital for further medical attention, although no further details about her condition were released by the medical staff at that facility.
Firefighters Conduct Rescue Operation
A six-member team from the Sungai Besar Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene immediately after the department received the emergency call. Firefighters found the driver trapped in his seat and unconscious.
The team worked hard to extricate him from the metal wreckage, successfully freeing him at 4:15 AM. However, Ministry of Health personnel present at the scene confirmed that the 21-year-old driver had died at the scene.
Investigation Into Crash Ongoing
Authorities have not released details regarding the primary cause of the collision. Officers are currently reviewing the specific circumstances of the incident to identify how it happened.
Police are looking at the road and the damaged trucks to figure out the exact sequence of events. They are handling the legal side of things and will release new information once they finish their review of the situation.
