A Malaysian man has received public attention after rescuing an elderly couple from a burning house by breaking through a fence with his bare hands. The dramatic rescue was shared online by social activist Kuan Chee Heng, widely known as Uncle Kentang, through a Facebook post describing the frightening fire incident and the brave actions taken during the emergency.

According to Uncle Kentang, the fire happened about two weeks ago and destroyed four nearby houses. During the incident, a man named Harvison noticed flames spreading through his neighbor’s home. Without waiting for emergency crews to arrive, he reportedly forced his way through the back fence of the property to reach the trapped residents inside.
Man Rushes Into Dangerous Fire
Uncle Kentang explained that the elderly couple living inside the house were unable to escape safely during the fire. The elderly woman reportedly could not walk, making the situation even more dangerous as smoke and flames continued spreading throughout the building.

Although Harvison and the couple were not close neighbors and rarely spoke to each other, he immediately stepped forward to help after seeing the emergency unfold. He reportedly entered the burning area and carried both the husband and wife out of the house to safety.
The activist later wrote that not many people would have dared to enter such a dangerous situation. He also said nobody knew where Harvison found the strength to complete the rescue during the frightening incident.
Family Faces Painful Loss
While the elderly couple survived the fire, their bedridden OKU son sadly did not survive the incident. Uncle Kentang said the couple’s other children later handled matters related to their brother’s death at the mortuary after the fire was brought under control.

Following the rescue, Harvison and his family reportedly welcomed the elderly couple into their home for temporary shelter. They also provided food and drinks while helping calm the couple after the traumatic experience.
Uncle Kentang Calls Him a Hero
The elderly couple were later moved to a hotel before receiving further care from their children. In his Facebook post, Uncle Kentang expressed disappointment that Harvison’s brave actions had not received wider recognition from the public.

He also suggested that Harvison should receive a “Malaysia Kind Hearts Award” for risking his own safety to save the trapped couple during the deadly house fire.
