A calm hotel breakfast in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, suddenly turned into a tense scene after a man argued with hotel staff over buffet rules.

The incident happened around 9:30am and was later shared online, quickly gaining attention. What began as a normal meal soon escalated into a public confrontation that left staff and guests shocked.
Taking Food From Buffet Into Containers
The man was having breakfast with his elderly mother at a hotel restaurant. During the meal, he reportedly took out his own plastic containers and began packing food from the buffet.

A clear notice near the dining area stated that food and drinks were not allowed to be taken away. The man continued packing food despite the rule being displayed.
Staff Politely Intervenes
A female staff member approached the table and calmly informed the guests that the hotel did not allow takeaway food from the buffet. She explained that the rule applied to all guests and was clearly stated.

Instead of accepting the explanation, the man became upset. He questioned the rule and said he had never experienced such a restriction before. He insisted that since he had paid for the buffet, he should be allowed to take food away.
Argument Quickly Escalates
The situation intensified as the man raised his voice and accused the staff member of lacking proper service. He reportedly threatened to file a complaint and stared aggressively at her.
The argument became physical when the man allegedly shoved the staff member during the confrontation. Witnesses said the atmosphere in the restaurant became uncomfortable as other guests watched the scene unfold.
Mother And Son Leave The Restaurant
After the argument, the man demanded that the staff apologize to his mother. However, the dispute remained unresolved. Eventually, the mother and son abandoned the packed food on the table.
They then stormed out of the restaurant, complaining loudly as they left the dining area. Hotel staff were left to handle the situation and calm the environment for other guests.
A Familiar Issue At Buffets
Such incidents often raise questions about buffet rules and guest behavior. In this Suzhou case, the event highlighted how quickly a simple breakfast can turn into a public disturbance when rules are challenged.
