Man Escapes with Minor Injuries in Late-Night Crash
A man in his 40s had a narrow escape after the car he was driving lost control and skidded into a stream along Jalan Tapah–Cameron Highlands in Perak on Sunday night.
According to Tapah District Police Chief, Superintendent Johari Yahya, the incident occurred at around 10.30 pm on May 18 during heavy rain.

The vehicle, travelling from Cameron Highlands towards Tanjung Malim, veered off the road near Batu 13 and ended up in a rocky streambed.
Slippery Road Blamed for the Accident
The man, aged 49, was reportedly driving when his car hit a water puddle, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
“Upon arriving at the scene, the vehicle lost control after hitting a pool of water (a puddle on the road). The car then skidded before falling into a stream beside the road,” said Johari in a statement, Malaysia Gazette Perak reported.
A report was filed on Monday, 19 May 2025. He added that the driver sustained only minor injuries and received treatment at Tapah Hospital.
Investigation Launched Under Traffic Regulations
Following the incident, police have opened an investigation paper under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 (LN 166/59).
