Fans Celebrate Victory
Brazil and Japan fans gathered outside Houston Stadium on Monday before Brazil beat Japan 2-1 in their round-of-32 match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Footage shows supporters cheering, taking photos and sharing their hopes before kick-off, and Brazilian fans celebrating after the final whistle.

“We are going to face Norway, probably, in the next phase. I think it’s going to be easier than Japan. But the thing is, we’re going to face England, probably, in the next phase, and that’s where Brazil needs to show why it came here,” shared a Brazilian backer.
Several supporters said they believed Brazil could go deep into the tournament. “I’m going to be supporting Brazil all the way through. It doesn’t matter how far they go. I know they’re going to go all the way. […] We have Neymar rallying the troops. It is going to be all love, and Brazil is going to go all the way,” a fan stressed.

“I want to go against Argentina, give them a little taste, and then, in the final, we’re going to go against Portugal. And we’re going to win it all. That’s going to be 6-1. First time somebody will get 6-1. For sure,” a backer said.
Brazil will now face either Norway or Ivory Coast in the Round of 16 on Sunday at New York/New Jersey Stadium.
