Antica Community Development and Services
Limited (ACDS), a registered charity, is set to hold their “OneSG61 with Antica” at
Perennial Business City. The two-day inclusive carnival and National Day celebration
will bridge communities, generations, and physical abilities through a shared love for
badminton and community engagement.
A central pillar of the celebration is the finals of the inaugural ANTICA Singapore
International Challenge 2026. Sanctioned by Badminton Asia (BA) and the
Badminton World Federation (BWF), the international tournament serves as a crucial
pathway for rising athletes pursuing the BWF World Tour, with many past
International Challenge winners progressing to become World and Olympic
Champions.
Bridging Courts, Abilities, and Generations
Rather than operating as a traditional fundraising drive, ACDS’s involvement as title
sponsor and community impact partner centres on investing directly in youth
development, expanding opportunities for emerging local talent, and fostering
inclusive participation across the community.
Embodying the spirit of breaking boundaries on and off the court, the event brings
together elite international competitors, emerging local youth, corporate leaders, and
athletes with intellectual disabilities on the exact same competitive stage.
Key highlights of this integration include:
- Guest-of-Honour Exhibition Match: Minister for Law & Second Minister for
Home Affairs, Mr Edwin Tong takes to the court to play alongside Hendra
Setiawan, (Olympic gold medalist, four-time World Champion, two-time Asian
Games gold medalist, and two-time All England champion), Singapore
Commonwealth Games mixed doubles gold medalist Terry Hee, and PT Djarum
CEO, Victor Hartono. - Record Local Youth Participants: More than 50 Singaporean players – the
largest local contingent to date, are competing, giving rising stars such as
Marcus Lau, Nge Joo Jie, Johann Prajogo, and GENK Capital Age Group
Series participants crucial exposure against international opponents on home
ground. - Adaptive Badminton Showcase: 16 teams from Special Olympics Singapore
and Team ABC (Autism Badminton Club) will compete on the main stage alongside mainstream athletes, demonstrating how inclusive and high-
performance spaces coexist. - Regional Sports Diplomacy & VIP Tournament: 16 senior leaders from
corporate partners including MSIG, Bubble House, Savoria, Tsao Pao Chee,
WTS Travels, and ACDS will compete in a VIP Invitational alongside diplomatic
representatives Mr Ahmad Almaududy Amri (Counsellor, Embassy of the
Republic of Indonesia) and Mr Ismail Bkri (Deputy High Commissioner, High
Commission of Malaysia).
Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman, President of ACDS, said: “Through this event, we

and community. By bringing international athletes, emerging youth players and
persons of different abilities together, sport becomes a powerful platform for unity,

this integrated sporting event.”
Unlocking Pathways for Youth Talent & Technical Innovation
Running from 18 to 23 August at the WYSE Active Hall, the tournament organised in
collaboration with YBadminton and the Singapore Badminton Association marks both
a competitive springboard for young athletes and milestone for technical innovation.
Marking a first for any BA & BWF sanctioned tournament, the event deploys a
cost-effective Instant Review System (IRS) across two competition courts.
Designed to lower venue infrastructure costs by up to 70% compared to traditional
Hawk-Eye setups, the system allows contested line calls to be reviewed while
making advanced court technology significantly more accessible for competitions.
Highlighting the role of private-sector collaborations, Mr Andre Tanoto, Chairman
of ACDS said: “Philanthropy should go beyond supporting a single event. It should
open doors and build pathways that help young people develop their abilities,
confidence and aspirations. When private-sector enterprises contribute their
resources, expertise and networks to community sport, they can create a meaningful
and lasting investment in our youths and the wider community.”
Inclusion Without Boundaries
The wider “OneSG61 with Antica” Carnival is expected to draw 5,000 visitors across
the weekend, featuring carnival rides, interactive games, food offerings, live stage
programming, busking, and lion dance performances. Community organisations
supporting ACDS’s four impact groups – seniors, youths, former offenders, and
adults with intellectual disabilities, contributed to the event. These include Ultimate
Friends, a support group focused on drug rehabilitation and community
reintegration, alongside organisations providing services in active ageing, disability
inclusion, health, technology, and community wellbeing.
In a creative collaboration, the visual identity and creative assets for both the carnival
and the international tournament were co-created by artists from MINDS. The
initiative provided artists with intellectual disabilities with a professional platform to
contribute to a large-scale public event while showcasing their creativity and talent.
A New Model for Community & Sporting Integration
By bringing a National Day community celebration together with a BWF-sanctioned
international tournament, ACDS and its partners demonstrate how elite achievement,
youth aspirations, adaptive play, and community participation can reinforce one
