Chiikawa Returns to Hong Kong

Chiikawa has returned to Hong Kong, taking over K11 MUSEA and the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront with a colourful new ARTIVERSE.

Footage filmed on Tuesday shows the opening ceremony and media preview, with visitors exploring four themed ‘universes’ built around Nagano’s drawings, music, large-scale installations and the world’s first giant CHIIKAWA carousel art installation.

Inside the Chiikawa Art Universe

Inside, more than 130 reproductions of original drawings and character concept sketches trace the creation of Chiikawa’s world. Giant installations feature Chiikawa, Hachiware, Usagi and Anoko, alongside the overseas debut of a towering Siren sculpture.

On the waterfront promenade, the 16-seat CHIIKAWA-Go-Round stands against the backdrop of Victoria Harbour, turning Nagano’s artwork into the exhibition’s playful centrepiece.

Bringing Joy to Hong Kong

Organiser and AllRightsReserved founder SK Lam said the event was designed to bring joy to Hong Kong while supporting cultural tourism and the creative economy.

“We have sold a million tickets in the past few years and have built a large community,” Lam shared. “It’s exciting because these characters have never appeared in this format before. As dedicated fans might know, besides the gosanke (the big three), we are introducing five new members. It’s a rare treat – thank you all for joining us.”

Meet Chiikawa and Friends

Chiikawa is the small, shy white creature at the heart of Nagano’s hit Japanese manga. The name comes from a phrase meaning ‘something small and cute’, while the stories follow Chiikawa’s daily adventures with best friends Hachiware and Usagi.
The exhibition runs from August 1 to September 6, 2026.
