17 years after the last film, it was revealed that Ryan Gosling is set to be the new Johnny Blaze in the upcoming “Ghost Rider”.
The news was announced during Marvel Studio’s Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con recently, with Shawn Levy (“Deadpool & Wolverine”) set to helm the movie.
“As you know, this is a character I’ve wanted to play for a very long time. So, Kevin, Josh Horowitz, Hall H, thank you,” said Gosling.

It is noted that Gosling and Levy earlier cooperated on the yet-to-be-released Star Wars movie, “Starfighter”. The director revealed that the two of them had even discussed about Ghost Rider while shooting the aforementioned film.
“Gosling is the absolute s***,” said Levy, adding, “I say that with tremendous respect.”
Prior to Gosling, the Marvel supernatural hero was played by Nicolas Cage in two movies released in 2007 and 2011. Meanwhile, Gabriel Luna played Ghost Rider in the TV series, “Agents of SHIELD”.
The movie is slated for 2028 release.
