Putin Discusses Asia-Pacific
Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed Moscow’s priorities in the Asia-Pacific region with permanent members of the Security Council on Friday.

“Today [Russian Foreign Minister] Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov will speak about the priorities on which the Foreign Ministry proposes to focus our attention in the Asia-Pacific region,” Putin announced. “For us, this is one of the key areas today, given both our economic and political interests.”

Senior Officials Attend
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Federation Council Chair Valentina Matvienko, State Duma Chair Vyacheslav Volodin, Defence Minister Andrei Belousov, Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu and other senior officials.
