The 2026 FIFA World Cup match between Argentina and Egypt was played at a mamak restaurant in Johor. The night was otherwise a whirl of chaos, however, as a fight is said to have occurred between two sides of supporters.

The clash occurred at a mamak store in Taman Universiti, Skudai, a few moments after Argentina beat Egypt. There were videos online of the outside of the restaurant, where there was a tense situation and several people were involved in a heated confrontation.
Fight Breaks Out
The argument arose after the World Cup game ended, says China Press. They were thought to be from rival groups, and soon the two began fighting with each other. The witnesses at the scene said that they saw people shouting at each other before the situation turned ugly.

Videos circulating online showed a crowd gathered outside the mamak restaurant. In the altercation, one individual could be seen throwing a chair, and others seemed to be pushing and wrestling. The trouble drew the attention of the crowds around the store as the dispute raged on outside.
Big Screen Switched Off
The decision to turn off the big screen displaying the live football match was made as the fight escalated. The transfer was thought to be an effort to defuse the situation and avoid exacerbating it. A few moments of noise went on in the restaurant as customers fled the scene.

The game was reportedly played after Argentina defeated Egypt in the Round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The match had attracted many football fans, with restaurants and food outlets across Malaysia screening the game for customers.
Investigation Ongoing
The incident has drawn attention because it happened during a public football screening at a popular dining spot. At the time of writing, no official information has been released about injuries or arrests linked to the reported fight.
Police are likely to keep “filling in” details of the incident. The reasons for the confrontation and whether further action will be taken are also not clear. The videos are part of the investigation of events at the World Cup match at the Mamak restaurant.
