A frightening accident happened at Denver International Airport on Friday night. A Frontier Airlines plane was starting its takeoff when it hit a person on the runway. The airport confirmed that the individual died at the scene.
A Terrifying Experience
Flight 4345 was preparing to fly to Los Angeles. As the plane gained speed on the ground, passengers heard a very loud noise. One traveler described the sound as being like a large explosion.

A video recorded by a passenger shows the view from a window during the flight’s departure. In the video, the plane is moving quickly through the dark night. Suddenly, a bright orange flash lights up the window. People in the cabin started to scream and panic because they did not know what had happened.
Security and Investigation
Authorities believe the person climbed over a high-security fence to get onto the airport grounds. Security cameras captured a blurry figure walking toward the runway just one minute before the impact.

Airport workers quickly closed the runway to investigate. Sadly, they found human remains on the path where the plane had traveled. Because of the collision, the plane’s engine caught fire. The pilots had to stop the aircraft immediately so everyone could leave safely.

Emergency teams helped the people on board. About 12 passengers received medical care for minor injuries. Most of the injuries happened while the passengers were using the emergency slides to exit the plane.
Seeking Better Safety
The airport is very large, covering many kilometers of land. Experts say it is very difficult for security teams to watch every part of the fence at all times.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the police are now working together to understand how this happened. They want to find out why the person was on the runway and how they got past the security measures.

This event has raised many questions about airport safety. Officials are discussing if they need to build stronger fences or use more cameras to protect the runways. For now, the airport has returned to normal operations, but the investigation into the tragic accident continues.
