A Malaysian Pokémon card collector is attracting attention again after offering part of his valuable collection for RM4.44 million. The collector, Damiral Imran from Penang, shared details about the sale on Facebook and surprised many trading card fans across the country.

Damiral, who said the collection was built over the last six months. He estimated the cards are worth between RM4.68 million and RM4.75 million. However, he explained that he is willing to sell the collection for RM4.44 million instead.

Luxury Car Trade Offer

The collector also revealed that he is open to barter deals instead of only cash payments. According to his announcement, interested buyers can exchange a Mercedes-AMG GT S sports car together with RM3.8 million cash for the Pokémon cards.

To attract more serious buyers, Damiral said he would also pay an RM80,000 commission to anyone who successfully helps him complete the sale. He added that all face-to-face transactions will only take place in Kuala Lumpur for security reasons.

This is not the first time Damiral has gained public attention for selling expensive Pokémon cards. Last year, he sold his complete collection, valued at more than RM2 million, for RM1.87 million in less than 10 days.

Previous Viral Collection Sale

During the earlier sale, Damiral accepted several alternative payment proposals. One offer included a Porsche 911 Carrera 4S together with RM1 million cash. In the end, the collection was fully purchased through a direct cash transaction.

The growing value of Pokémon cards has turned the hobby into a serious investment market. Rare cards are now sometimes valued similarly to luxury watches, sports cars, and designer collectibles.

Pokémon Cards As Investments

The international collectibles industry has seen major growth in recent years. Earlier this year, famous wrestler and internet personality Logan Paul reportedly sold his rare “Pikachu Illustrator” Pokémon card for US$16.49 million, equal to around RM64.49 million.

The sale reportedly became the world’s most expensive trading card transaction. Logan Paul originally bought the card in 2021 for US$5.275 million, which also earned a Guinness World Record at the time.

He later customized the collectible with a diamond necklace and a special card holder. The rare Pokémon card was even worn by Logan Paul during WrestleMania 38, adding more attention to the growing popularity of high-value trading cards.
