Crowds Rally in Tehran and Bojnord After US Strikes

Hundreds of Iranians took to the streets of Tehran and the northeastern city of Bojnord on Thursday evening, in support of the government, amid the latest US strikes. Footage shows crowds waving Iranian flags and chanting.

Iranian Military Claims Attack on US Naval Vessels

Earlier, Iran’s joint command, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, announced that Iranian armed forces had targeted U.S. naval vessels in the eastern section of the Strait of Hormuz.

It said the attack came in response to what it described as US violations of the ceasefire, including strikes on two Iranian oil tankers and a ship, as well as airstrikes targeting the coasts of Bandar Khamir, Sirik, and Qeshm Island.

US Military Confirms Strikes on Iranian Facilities

The US military said on Thursday that it had targeted Iranian military facilities allegedly involved in attacks on its own forces, including missile and drone launch sites, command-and-control centres, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance facilities.

US President Donald Trump said the ceasefire with Iran remained in effect, calling his side’s strikes a ‘love tap’. It came amid reports that an agreement between the US and Iran could be close.
