A Myanmar construction worker died after falling through a factory roof in Sri Racha, Thailand, on Friday morning. The accident happened when he stepped onto a weak plastic panel while preparing safety equipment. He fell about 15 meters to the ground and died instantly.
Accident at Factory Roof
The incident took place at around 10:30 a.m. on April 4, 2026, in the Nong Kham area of Chonburi province. Rescue workers from Sawang Prateep Sri Racha quickly arrived at the scene after receiving an emergency call. Police and forensic officers also came to investigate the case.

The victim was identified as Mr. Chai Thun Sa, a 37-year-old worker from Myanmar. His body was found on the ground floor of the building. He had serious head injuries, and medical staff confirmed he had died at the scene.
What Caused the Fall
Investigators found broken pieces of plastic roofing near the body. On the roof, there was a large hole where the worker had fallen through. The roof was about four and a half stories high.
According to his coworkers, the team was hired to repair and replace old glass windows in the building. At the time of the accident, Mr. Chai had climbed onto the roof to set up safety harness equipment.

However, the roof had transparent plastic panels mixed with metal sheets. From above, these panels looked similar to the metal surface. The worker stepped onto one of the plastic sections, which could not support his weight, causing him to fall through.
Investigation Ongoing
Witnesses said the fall happened very quickly. Colleagues and staff nearby were shocked and immediately called for help, but the worker had already died on impact.
Police officers collected evidence and spoke with witnesses at the scene.

Forensic teams also examined the area carefully to understand how the accident happened.
Authorities said they will continue the investigation and follow legal procedures according to standard protocol.
