A former Thai cabin crew member has gained attention online after quitting her job at Korean Air and posting a goodbye message on social media.

The woman, who uses the name Jam, shared pictures of her in her flight attendant uniform and a brief message. A goodbye has turned into an overheated online debate.

Jam shared the photos on her Instagram post . She captioned it, Once a dream, always a lesson later KE. The photos also depicted her as smiling with her co-workers. Initially, the post resembled an ordinary memory post termination of employment, but the responses started to swell.
Negative Comments Rocket Scientist.
Soon after the posting of the post, a few social media users in South Korea began making scathing and critical remarks. What exactly was the cause of the backlash was unclear, but the content of most messages was negative. Jam neither replied nor answered any of these remarks.

As the circumstance grew more heated, Thai users started intervening. A good number of them defended Jam and attempted to support it. It resulted in a fight between the users on each side and made the comment section a place of conflict and harsh feelings.
Condolences and Some Pardoning, Too,
Though not all the reactions were positive, not all the comments were negative. Some South Korean users voiced their complaints against the web abuse. Others even apologized and this should not be tolerated. There were also supportive messages by Thai and international users requesting Jam to be strong.

The rate of suicide in South Korea is high; approximately 29.1 deaths per 100,000 to the year 2024. Some and even most people assume that hate and pressure can be included online in the problem.

This event has again demonstrated that social media can easily transform a personal experience to a global discussion. What began as a mere good bye post, has now become so much bigger, attracting the attention of various countries and communities.
