Alysa Liu is a figure skating champion who is known to perform powerful moves on the ice. But she has just demonstrated another dimension in herself when she turned up at one of the popular fashion events in Paris.
After her victory at the Winter Olympics, Liu had never been to a major fashion show in her life, as she went to France. It was a shock to a number of fans that the young athlete could so easily transfer to the glamorous world of fashion right after the sports arenas.
The 20 year old athlete was present at a fashion show organized by the reputable luxury brand Louis Vuitton at the Paris Fashion Week. Liu was in the front row together with some popular celebrities such as Zendaya, Lisa and Jennifer Connelly.
This was the experience of Liu at her first fashion show and she acknowledged that she did not have a total understanding of how the show went about it. Nevertheless, she claimed that she was thrilled to observe the designs and visit the mood of the show.
Designed Inspirations of Home.
Liu was brought up in the Bay Area of California where he lived in cities like Oakland, Richmond, and Alameda. She thinks that this surrounding greatly influenced her own style of fashion. Liu states that the people in the region usually dress in casual wear such as loose trousers, loose jackets, and beanies due to the weather conditions in the area which are mild.
She also loves platform shoes as she believes that she is shorter than most of the people who surround her. Liu refers to her style as eclectic, or in other words she likes combining a large number of different appearances.
She does not necessarily buy expensive clothes every time; instead, she makes frequent visits to thrift stores to be able to discover something unusual.
Family Effects on Her Fashion.
Liu claims that her greatest fashion role model is her siblings. Being the eldest, out of five children she shares a lot of clothes with her brothers and sisters. She also gives them outfits and sometimes they provide her with their clothes in exchange. Although their preferences are extremely different, the brothers like lending things to one another.
One of the sisters of Liu has an emo style appearance with punk essence, whereas another one has a taste towards plain clothes such as denim-denim pairs. Liu laughs when discussing their differences but says that the combination of styles has been able to influence her own fashion ideas.
Liu stood out very easily at the Louvre Museum, where the fashion show was held. Her spotted hair and trademark smiley lip piercing distinguished her as compared to other guests. Although she might have a reputation for glittering skating costumes, she wore simple clothes to the performance; a brown denim jacket with similar jeans and a general bag.
