Explicit Act Caught on Camera
Public indecency cases often spark heated debate in Thailand, where authorities take such offenses seriously under the law.
One recent incident in Phuket drew widespread attention after a man was caught on video having sex with a woman in the back of a moving pickup truck.
The footage, recorded by another motorist on Wednesday night, September 24, showed the pair completely naked and engaging in sexual activity in the open bed of a black Ford Ranger.
The truck, flashing its hazard lights, was moving at high speed in the left lane along the Phuket Bypass Road in Mueang District.
Arrest at Bangkok Airport
Authorities later confirmed the man’s identity as a 23-year-old Russian national named Georgii.
After tracking his movements from Phuket, police discovered he had booked a flight to Bangkok.
Immigration officers arrested him at Suvarnabhumi International Airport at around 3.45 pm on Thursday, September 25, before transferring him back to Mueang Phuket Police Station for further proceedings, The Thaiger reported.
The woman’s identity has not been verified. While some Thai outlets suggested she may have been a sex worker, police have not confirmed this.
Links to Adult Content Production
Police believe Georgii may be linked to online adult content creation. Reports indicated he had previously produced explicit material, including group sex videos and unusual sexual activities.
Authorities are investigating whether the Phuket incident was part of such a production.
Possible Charges and Penalties
Officials have not yet confirmed the charges Georgii will face.
According to reports, under Section 388 of Thailand’s Criminal Law, public sex is considered an act of public indecency and carries a penalty of up to a 5,000 baht (approx. S$200) fine.
Phuket police have also recommended that the Immigration Bureau revoke Georgii’s visa and blacklist him from returning to Thailand.
