On Sunday, 24 August 2025, a Malaysian man named Wong Hann Jie, also known as Jason Wong, publicly announced the collapse of his ten-year marriage in a Facebook post.
The post described his devastation after discovering that his wife, Lua Viviem, had been unfaithful.
Allegations of Affair With BMW-Driving Doctor
Wong’s wife was allegedly involved with a doctor who drove a BMW.
The details spread online after Wong’s post drew public attention to the scandal and fuelled discussions about loyalty and material comfort in relationships.
Video Evidence Shared in Post
Alongside his post, Wong also attached a video filmed inside the car.
In the clip, his wife, Lua Viviem, can be seen sitting in the front passenger seat, while the doctor was standing outside the car by the open driver’s side door.
Wong presented this footage as evidence of his wife being caught together with the doctor. While no physical altercation was involved, the verbal confrontation was intense.
A Heartbreaking Revelation Shared Online
According to Wong, the betrayal was not caused by poverty, frequent quarrels, or a lack of compatibility, but by what he called an “office wife” situation, where his spouse developed a romantic attachment to a colleague.
Despite years of sacrifices, long-distance commitments, and trust, Wong said he eventually discovered that his wife had been involved with a married doctor.
Additionally, the doctor, Dr. Wong Lu Yang, is an aesthetic physician at MyClinic Aesthetic Skin & Laser Specialist in Kota Bharu, according to his professional profile.
The husband then explained that he initially gave his wife a chance, but when the affair did not stop, he made the painful decision to file for divorce.
“Cheating is a choice, not a mistake,” he wrote.
Divorce Petition Filed in Kelantan High Court
Wong also shared a copy of his divorce petition filed at the Kota Bharu High Court in Kelantan.
The case, filed under the Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976, which governs civil marriages and divorces for non-Muslims in Malaysia, covers not only the dissolution of the marriage but also custody arrangements for their two children.
The document requires both parties to appear for case management before the Deputy Registrar on 7 September 2025 in Kota Bharu.
This confirms Wong’s legal move to end the marriage and resolve parental responsibilities through the court.
Moving Forward for the Sake of Children
Despite his heartbreak, Wong explained that he chose to prioritise his own well-being and the future of his children. He wrote that holding on to someone unwilling to change would only prolong the pain.
His post ended with a warning to those who cheat:
“Once you throw away your dignity, people will look down on you forever.”
For Wong, the upcoming court hearing in Kelantan marks not just the legal end of a marriage, but also the beginning of a new chapter for himself and his children.
Dr. Wong Addresses Harassment and Legal Action
In the early hours of Wednesday, 27 August 2025, Dr. Wong Lu Yang took to Facebook to address the backlash that had followed the scandal.
He revealed that he and his family had been threatened and targeted by online harassment, with false content, personal photos, and even his phone number being circulated without his consent.
Additionally, a police report had already been filed, and he warned that he would pursue legal action against anyone misusing his personal data or harassing his loved ones.
Dr. Wong also apologized to the public for the attention the matter had drawn, stressing that it was a personal issue unrelated to any organizations or associations he was linked to.
Dr. Wong Expresses Guilt Over Wife’s Suffering
In another Facebook post, Dr. Wong made a post thanking friends and family for their concern.
While he reassured that they were doing fine, he admitted feeling deep guilt and sadness over the emotional toll it had taken on his wife, describing her as having suffered a “second blow.”
“Once again, I want to say sorry to my wife.”
MyClinic Issues Clarification
As speculation grew online, MyClinic released a statement addressing the controversy. The clinic clarified that Dr Wong Lu Yang involved in the viral incident, was no longer part of MyClinic and had not been associated with the clinic for some time.
In its statement, MyClinic stressed that family values and the privacy of individuals must be safeguarded.
It also urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information and reassured that the clinic remains committed to maintaining professionalism, care, and trust.
Doctor Suspended From JCI Kota Bharu Presidency
Additionally, JCI Kota Bharu released an official statement on 27 August 2025 confirming that Dr. Wong Lu Yang, who was serving as the organization’s 2025 president, has been suspended from his duties.
According to the statement, his role will be temporarily taken over by Immediate Past President Tan Zhi Qian while an internal review is conducted.
JCI Kota Bharu emphasized that this was a personal matter concerning Dr. Wong and had no connection to the organization’s mission or activities. They also urged the public to refrain from spamming or attacking their page, as it was unfair to volunteers and sponsors.
Despite the leadership change, the organization reiterated its commitment to empowering youth through leadership training, community projects, and volunteer initiatives.
Latest Update: Wife Forgives Dr. Wong, Requests Privacy
In a very recent and latest update, Dr. Wong Lu Yang posted a video on Facebook apologising to his wife for the distress caused by the scandal.
He explained that they had been aware of photos and videos related to the matter for two to three months, and during that period, he had chosen to confess to his wife and seek her forgiveness.
The couple reached an understanding, with his wife deciding to give him a second chance to rebuild their marriage and family life.
Toward the end of the video, his wife appeared briefly to appeal to the public, asking that their children and family members not be involved in the controversy and requesting respect for their privacy.
