Two foreign men who risked their safety by climbing over the roof of a moving car during a traffic jam on a Malaysian highway have been released on police bail.

The incident reportedly happened on Wednesday, 14 May 2025, at around 6:43 PM along the Cyberjaya–Putrajaya Expressway.

Reckless Act Captured on Dashcam

A man dressed in white was seen climbing out of the driver’s side window, crossing the roof of a red car, and entering through the opposite window, as captured on dashcam footage.

Not long after, a second man, dressed in black, carried out the same action.

Police: Both Men Were Passengers, Driver Not Invoved

Following the video’s circulation, police launched an investigation.

According to Harian Metro, Sepang District Police Chief ACP Norhizam Bahaman confirmed that both individuals involved in the stunt were foreign nationals and passengers in the vehicle.

He further clarified that the driver did not take part in the act.

Heading to KLIA to Send Off the Driver

Preliminary findings revealed that the men were on their way to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to send off the driver, who was preparing to return to his home country of Tajikistan.

Police stated that the first man climbed back into the car through the rear passenger window, followed shortly after by the second man.

Arrested and Later Released

The two men were arrested and held in remand for two days before being released on police bail on Saturday, 17 May 2025.

ACP Norhizam stated that investigation papers would be submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further instructions.

The case is being investigated under Section 32(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
