A discovery was made at KLCC shopping mall when a passerby found a decomposed body inside a parked car.
The incident, which occurred on January 25, only went viral after a video of the discovery was shared on social media on Thursday, 13 March 2025.
Unusually Strong Odor and Leaking Fluid Led to Discovery
A social media user named Rizwan Kamarulzaman recounted how he initially noticed an unusual smell and droplets of fluid leaking from the vehicle. Curious, he decided to check inside the car and was stunned to see a decomposed hand.

“I smelled a very strange odor and saw droplets of liquid dripping from the car. When I looked inside, I was shocked to see a decomposed hand,” he said.
Authorities and Mall Security Informed
According to Majoriti, Rizwan immediately alerted security guards, who then informed the mall management. A police report was subsequently filed for further investigation.
Speculations on Time of Death
Authorities revealed that the body was inside a Proton Wira and is believed to have been there for at least three days before being found.
However, some online users speculated that the level of decomposition suggested the body may have been there for a longer period.
Police Confirm Case but Provide Few Details
Meanwhile, the Kuala Lumpur police confirmed the case but stated that it took place two months ago.
No further details have been disclosed by authorities at this time.
Online Reactions & Questions
Following the viral video, many online users shared their thoughts, with some raising questions about the incident and others reacting with curiosity.
One commenter questioned what would happen to the vehicle, asking, “My only question is…Where will they take the car? Please don’t let it be scrapped… I don’t want an innocent person to be affected by the lingering presence of death.”
Another user jokingly pointed out, “I can see a hand on the steering wheel.”
A woman also shared that her husband was among those who helped move the body, expressing her unease about the experience. When asked if the deceased was Malaysian, she replied, “I think so, but the deceased was not Muslim. Chinese.”
Some questioned how mall security had not noticed the car earlier. “It’s strange. How did the guards not realize something was wrong? Don’t they patrol the area?”
The owner of the video responded, explaining, “They do, but the parking spot was next to a pillar and somewhat hidden from view. The victim’s car also had dark windows, and the body was lying down. The management handled the situation very efficiently.”
