A 19-year-old teenager was rescued after being trapped in a small space behind a concrete wall in Villahermosa, the capital of Tabasco, Mexico.
Authorities discovered the young man, identified only as Rafael “N,” during a police operation on February 5, 2025, in the Punta Brava neighborhood.
Police footage captured the moment officers used sledgehammers to smash through what appeared to be freshly laid concrete, eventually revealing the small, unsanitary space where the victim was held.

Cartel Involvement and Forced Drug Dealing
According to The Mirror, Rafael was imprisoned by members of a drug cartel after being forced to sell drugs in the city.
Authorities believe he had only recently been confined before his rescue, though the exact duration of his captivity remains unclear.

The circumstances surrounding how police were alerted to his whereabouts have not been disclosed.
The young man is originally from Chiapas, a neighboring state located approximately three hours from Villahermosa. It remains uncertain whether he was lured or coerced into working for the cartel.
Rescue Amid Related Incidents
The rescue of Rafael followed another troubling discovery involving three women who were found abandoned in different locations across Tabasco.
Infobae reported that police suspect the women were under the influence of narcotics. One of them was seen being taken out of a truck and left on a pavement in Nacajuca, appearing disoriented and unable to provide details about her identity.
Authorities were called to assist her and ensure her safety.
