A 17-year-old boy in Maharashtra’s Wardha district, India, was allegedly murdered by a 21-year-old man after a dispute over an Instagram story, according to local police.

The incident took place on Saturday (Feb 8) in Pimpalgaon village, located in the Hinganghat area.
Poll on Instagram
According to PTI, nearly a month before the attack, the victim, Himanshu Chimney, and the accused, Manav Jumnake, had posted an Instagram story asking followers to vote.

Discussion Turned Deadly
Himanshu reportedly received more votes than Manav, which led to tensions between them.

Following this, they met in person to discuss the issue, but the conversation escalated into a verbal altercation. Manav, along with his friend, allegedly attacked Himanshu with a knife.

Police Investigation Underway
Himanshu succumbed to his injuries after the attack. Additionally, authorities have arrested Manav, and an investigation is ongoing to determine further details surrounding the incident.
Police have not disclosed additional information about the social media post or the circumstances that led to the meeting.
