Let us first present to you the scar girl. On TikTok, @wtmab, commonly known as Annie, has close to 700,000 followers and growing plus her videos never stop going viral. She earned her reputation due to a wound on her face that she allegedly received in March 2020. People have noticed that it often changes in size, color, and location, which is not at all how a scar should heal. Many people assumed she was lying about having a scar in order to gain views as a result of this.
Many users, however, have claimed that her scar is artificial and that she often draws on her cheek to deceive her followers. Numerous individuals have also expressed their dissatisfaction with the fact that her scar’s angle varies every day and that it has become bigger since last year.
Having a whopping 34.2 million likes on her page itself, Annie was identified as the scar girl by many Tiktok users. According to her Tiktok caption, during March 2020, she injure herself and realised that there would be a permanent scar on her face. During the phase when she started posting on Tiktok, she garnered many positive reviews complimenting her courage as well as her looks. Although there were a handful of comments asking for an explanation for her ‘scar’.
As time pass, many netizens started to realise that the positioning of the scar was misaligned and the shade became way darker. She draws on her scar as part of her regular cosmetic regimen, according to several users’ jokes. People are certain that Annie is lying because of the numerous theories that have been generated about her and her imprint on the platform.
As far as she tries to justify herself, it was seen that she was merely wiping the scar with a paper tower and a q-tip. Annie responded to the assertion that her scar darkened rather than lightened, claiming that this happens to all of her wounds as they heal.
She further asserted that she will continue to use her channel to promote body acceptance and DV awareness. In fact, if this was a clout to gain viewership, it worked.. many videos were created by Tiktokers to make fun of the self drawn scar. Whether it is a clout or genuine, we’ll never know.
