At just 25 years old, Ganesh Baraiya has started his first job as a medical officer. What makes his story stand out is not only his success, but the long and difficult path he walked to reach it. Born in a small village in Gujarat, India, Ganesh lives with dwarfism.

He is only three feet tall and weighs around 20 kilograms, yet his determination has always been much bigger than his size.
A Long Fight For His Right
Ganesh did not get his job easily. He had to fight a legal battle that went all the way to the Supreme Court. For many years, he struggled to prove that he was capable of becoming a doctor.
Some people doubted him because of his physical condition. But Ganesh never accepted defeat. In the end, the court supported him, and he finally got the chance to serve as a medical officer.

His first posting marks a proud moment not only for him but also for his family. Coming from a humble background, Ganesh is one of eight siblings. His parents are farmers, and life has never been easy for them. Their house is still made of basic materials, and building a better home has always been a dream.
Ganesh says his first goal is simple but meaningful. He wants to build a strong brick house for his family. In the past, construction work stopped many times because they ran out of money. Now, with a steady income, he hopes to finish what they started.
Support That Made A Difference
Medical school was not easy for Ganesh. Simple tasks were often difficult because of his height. During anatomy classes, teachers and friends helped him by giving him a front seat. In surgery training, his classmates even lifted him so he could see clearly. These small acts of kindness helped him continue learning without feeling left behind.

Today, when patients first meet Ganesh, they are often surprised. His appearance is not what they expect from a doctor. However, once they hear his story and see his confidence, their doubts quickly disappear. Many begin to trust him and respect his journey.

Ganesh now looks ahead to the future. He hopes to study further and choose a specialty such as paediatrics, dermatology, or radiology. For him, this is only the beginning of a life dedicated to helping others.
