Lopburi Province in central Thailand is becoming a new center of interest for travel enthusiasts. Khao Wong Phra Chan Mountain, located in the Huai Pong sub-district of this province, is known as the highest peak in Lopburi. The Wat Khao Wong Phra Chan temple standing on the top of the mountain is famous for its religious importance as well as its natural beauty.

The mountain is about 650 meters above sea level and has a long staircase to reach it. As a result, this place has become a unique meeting place for travel, meditation and self-purification.
The silent magic of a thousand Buddhas
Hidden deep in the dense forests of Thailand, there is a wonderful spiritual place, which is known to tourists and devotees as the “Thousand Buddhas Forest Temple.” Numerous golden Buddha statues spread in the shade of green trees surround this temple in a mysterious atmosphere.

The surrounding silence, the calls of birds, and the light coming through the gaps in the leaves create a heavenly atmosphere here. Away from the hustle and bustle of modern life, this place is a safe haven for meditation and self-purification. Therefore, it is becoming one of the most spiritual travel destinations in Thailand day by day.
Temple deep in the forest
This temple is located far from the hustle and bustle of the city, inside a quiet forest. Tall trees, bamboo groves and natural paths all around have created an intimate atmosphere. This location surrounded by the forest, makes the temple even more mysterious.
As a result, upon entering here, visitors feel like they have entered a different world. This connection between religion and nature is the main attraction of the temple.
Row of a Thousand Buddhas
Thousands of golden Buddha statues are spread across the temple premises. Each statue is placed in a meditative posture, as if they are silently engaged in meditation. These statues have been placed as symbols of the disciple Buddhas.

When viewed from a distance, it seems that they are all guarding a central Buddha statue. This scene creates deep peace in the minds of visitors.
The highest peak of Lopburi
Khao Wong Phra Chan mountain is known as the highest point in Lopburi province. From the location of the mountain, the surrounding vast natural scenery is visible. The green fields below, small villages and distant mountain ranges create a pleasant environment.

As a result, many tourists come here to spend time close to nature. At the same time, this mountain is also considered a religiously sacred place for the local people.
The challenge of 3,790 steps
To climb this mountain, tourists have to climb about 3,790 steps. The length of the staircase is about 1.68 kilometers, and it usually takes one and a half to two hours to climb. There are dense trees, shaded areas and resting places along the way.
As a result, the journey does not seem very difficult even though it is a long way. Many believe that crossing these steps is a symbol of mental strength and endurance.
The sacred vision of the peak
Upon reaching the top of the mountain, visitors can see various sacred structures. There are Buddha’s footprints, Guan Yin, Guan Yu and other religious symbols. The most interesting is the Phra Phuttha Chok, or the huge golden Buddha statue in Chiang Saen style. It is known as the largest Buddha statue in Lopburi province.
