Man Walks Into Police Station to Confess
A 33-year-old man turned himself in at Romklao Police Station in Bangkok on Monday, August 4, and confessed to killing his 73-year-old mother two weeks earlier.
He told police he had strangled her and concealed her body in a bathtub filled with cement inside their home in Soi Romklao 27, Lat Krabang district.
Strong Odour from Bathroom, Decomposing Body Concealed Beneath Cement
According to reports, after receiving the confession, officers accompanied the man, Tarn, to the house. When they arrived, a strong odour was coming from the bathroom.

Layers of Clothing and Cement Used to Hide the Body
Authorities found the woman’s body in a brick bathtub approximately one metre high.
The corpse was covered with nearly 50 pieces of clothing and topped with a layer of cement and clothing, Matichon reported.

Marks Around Neck Indicated Strangulation
The body was bloated and lying face down, dressed in a blue sleeveless top and black pants. There were clear marks around the neck indicating strangulation.
She “complained too much,” Suspect Says
Tarn admitted to strangling his mother, or Worranan, according to The Thaiger, and said he committed the act because she “complained too much,” based on his confession to police.
Suspect Reportedly Struggled with Mental Illness
Based on local media reports, Tarn had received psychiatric treatment in the past.
He had reportedly shown signs of erratic behaviour in the past, and police had previously been called to intervene during episodes.
Suspect Had Recently Left Monkhood
It is also noted that Tarn had recently left monkhood and had been living with his mother at the home for about three years.
He rarely interacted with neighbours and was considered socially withdrawn.
Police Continue Investigation as Medical Evaluation Pending
Following this, police initially charged Tarn with murder and concealment of a body.
Authorities stated that further legal proceedings will depend on the results of a medical evaluation to assess his mental state.
Police are continuing their investigation.
