The campus is known in Sweden as Komvux, primarily for individuals who did not complete primary or secondary education—before opening fire.
Police received emergency calls at around 12:33 p.m. local time, prompting lockdowns at six nearby schools and a restaurant, BBC reports.

Officers arriving at the scene were fired upon, though none were injured. Authorities later found the shooter dead, with indications that he had turned the gun on himself.
A total of eleven people, including the shooter, were killed in the attack, while several others remain hospitalized, some in critical condition.
Police Not Ruling Out Possible Racial Motive Behind Attack
Swedish police are not ruling out a racial motive for the attack, noting that the victims included individuals of multiple nationalities.
Among them was 29-year-old Syrian refugee Salim Iskef, who had come to Sweden in 2015 to escape the war in his homeland.
The police investigation is ongoing, and while Andersson was previously unknown to authorities, officers are exploring all possible motives, including racism.
Authorities and Leaders Respond
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson described the shooting as the worst mass killing in the country’s history, offering condolences to the victims’ families and condemning the act of violence.
King Carl Gustaf also expressed sorrow over the tragedy, thanking emergency responders for their efforts during and after the attack.
