Security Chaos At Suvarnabhumi
Late-night madness broke out on July 29 at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. An rowdy crowd of fans stormed past restricted zones just to chase two Chinese actors from the web drama Double Helix.
It started around 11:00 PM. The group tailed the stars through the terminal, brushed past security, and barged straight into a VIP lounge reserved for paying passengers. Panicked airline workers had to call airport guards just to clear the room.
Storming The Jet Bridge
It didn’t end there. Instead of leaving, the fans ran deeper into the airport. They shoved past gate staff without showing tickets or passport checks.
The crowd then ran down the jet bridge. They tried forcing their way onto the plane. Sensing serious danger, the cabin crew slammed the doors shut, leaving the crowd stuck outside in the walkway.
Racist Gesture Sparks Outrage
That’s when things took an even uglier turn. While trying to hold people back, one airport guard completely lost his cool. Mobile footage caught him pulling the corners of his eyes to make a racist gesture at the Chinese fans.
The video went viral online within hours. People were furious. Netizens slammed the guard’s blatant racism, shifting public anger from the unruly fans directly onto airport staff.
Flight Delays & Official Apology
The entire security nightmare ruined travel plans for Thai Airways flight TG674 to Beijing. By the end of the night, 22 passengers were banned from boarding. Twelve people agreed to take their bags off, but ten others refused, leading to noisy shouting matches right by the gate.
On August 4, Suvarnabhumi Airport bosses put out an official apology for both the security lapse and the guard’s behavior. They confirmed the officer is facing disciplinary action, and they are now overhauling all airport safety checks.
