Stars recently took to social media to mourn the loss of filmmaker K. Bhagyaraj, who passed away suddenly from cardiac arrest on 27 June.
Kamal Haasan expressed his sadness over the passing via X, writing, “K. Bhagyaraj (whom I met 50 years ago) is no more today. Our Tamil cinema has lost two kings in one month.”

Mohanlal also paid his tributes, saying, “Tamil cinema has lost one of its most original voices today. Bhagyaraj Sir was a rare talent, a filmmaker, actor, and storyteller who shaped an entire generation of cinema with his wit, warmth, and vision. My deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fans.”
Mammootty had a short tribute to the filmmaker, posting, “RIP Bhagyaraj. Heartfelt condolences.”
Raghava Lawrence shared a black and white photo of Bhagyaraj, and expressed, “Deeply saddened by the demise of Director Bakyaraj Sir. His contribution to cinema is unforgettable, and his work has inspired generations. This is a great loss to the film industry. Heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. May his soul rest in peace.”

Anil Kapoor posted a long message, which read, “Deeply saddened and shocked by the passing of K. Bhagyaraj sir. It feels especially unreal because I had the opportunity to meet him recently at Khushbu’s daughter’s wedding and spend some time with him.”
“Bhagyaraj sir was a creative genius whose contributions to Indian cinema go far beyond what many people know. He was the original creator behind stories that went on to become landmark Hindi films and career-defining milestones for so many of us.”
On the other hand, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay and superstar Rajinikanth were seen offering their condolences to Bhagyaraj’s family, with the former actor seen offering condolences to the director’s wife Poornima Bhagyaraj and their children.
