South Korea’s Biggest Cosplay Gathering
Thousands of cosplay, anime and gaming fans gathered at Comic World in Ilsan, one of South Korea’s best known doujinshi and cosplay events,

as colourful costumes, performances and fan art filled the KINTEX exhibition centre.
Fans Bring Characters To Life
Footage filmed on Saturday, July 18, shows attendees dressed in elaborate costumes, wigs and makeup inside a packed exhibition hall.

Cosplayers pose for photographs against themed sets and alongside oversized props as visitors gather around.
Cosplayers Share Their Passion
“I’m cosplaying as Red Hood from NIKKE. I love wearing beautiful costumes, and that’s what got me into cosplay. I also really enjoy coming to events like this because I get to meet and connect with a lot of people,” one cosplayer said.

“Everyday life can be stressful, so coming here on the weekends helps me refresh and improves my quality of life,” she added.
Long-Running Fan Convention
Comic World has been held in Korea since 1999 and is described by its organisers and event listings as a long-running subculture convention centred on amateur art, cosplay and fan creativity.
The event is currently scheduled to run at KINTEX on July 18-19, 2026.
