A five-year-old Australian Shepherd named Bailey has gained attention for his life-saving instincts after preventing his owner from fainting due to a medical condition.
According to the video, Bailey sensed his owner’s distress before she even realized something was wrong and immediately took action to help her.
Bailey Senses Something is Wrong
As his owner went about her tasks in the kitchen, Bailey suddenly approached her with urgency. He seemed to detect a shift in her condition and refused to leave her side.
Moments later, his owner sat down, responding to his concern. It was as if he knew what was coming before she did.
Fetching Water and Medication
Bailey first hugs his owner for comfort, then rushes to the refrigerator to retrieve a water bottle. He then searches for her medication and brings it to her.
As her symptoms worsen, Bailey remains by her side, encouraging her to lay flat and breathe.
The text reads, “It’s getting worse. I’m right here, but you need to lay flat. Just breathe. I’m not going anywhere. You’re safe.”
What is POTS?
According to reports, she suffers from Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), a disorder that causes an abnormal heart rate increase upon standing, leading to dizziness and fainting.

The condition occurs due to insufficient blood returning to the heart when a person transitions from sitting or lying down to standing.
This can result in symptoms like a rapid heartbeat, lightheadedness, palpitations, fatigue, and even fainting.
Viewers Moved by Bailey’s Actions
The heartwarming video quickly gained traction online, with many viewers expressing admiration for Bailey’s instincts.
Some shared personal stories about their dogs detecting medical conditions without training.
Others pointed out the incredible ability of dogs to sense hormonal changes before humans notice any symptoms.
Many also praised service dogs as invaluable companions, with some humorously saying they would rely on them in old age instead of children.
Similar Incidents of Canine Heroism
Bailey’s story is not unique. In another case, a 13-year-old rescue dog named Gita led a deputy to her injured owner in Stevens County, Washington.
The elderly man had fallen near his remote cabin and remained stranded for hours until Gita guided authorities to his location, preventing a worse outcome.

I’m so glad Bailey helped me through this episode and kept me safe throughout the rest of the day. – #pots #servicedog #servicedogawareness #fyp #foryou #eds #ist #disabilityawarness #foryourpage #potssyndromeawareness
