Sengkang Town Council Rolls Out First Batch Of Modernised Lifts

Sengkang Town Council (SKTC) is pleased to announce that the first batch of modernised lifts, carried out by Fujitec Singapore—the original lift manufacturer—has been certified safe by professional engineers and resumed service on 22 August 2025 at Rivervale Crescent (Blocks 157A, 157B, 158A, and 158D).

The lift modernisation programme, outlined in the Sengkang Town Plan, builds on our previous safety enhancement efforts.

The modernisation process involves replacing and upgrading key mechanical and electrical components—including safety systems, lift controls, and interior fittings—to improve safety, reliability, and user comfort.

MP Louis Chua (Sengkang GRC, Rivervale) remarked,

“These works are part of our infrastructure and estate improvement efforts to upgrade ageing lifts across the estate and ensure they meet current safety and performance standards. Additionally, residents are not required to make any extra payments for the modernisation, which is funded through the Town Council’s Lift Replacement Fund set aside for long-term lift renewal works.”

Mr William Wong (Managing Director of Fujitec Singapore) added,

“Lift modernisation works are common in commercial and residential properties, and we are pleased to work with Sengkang Town Council to bring this solution to Singapore’s public housing estates. Residents can look forward to enhanced safety and reliability, along with refreshed interiors for a more pleasant ride experience.”
