Polish Man Arrested for Spanking Thai Woman’s Butt, Claims He Didn’t Know It Was Illegal

On January 12, 2025, a 31-year-old Polish man was arrested after allegedly spanking a Thai woman’s butt in a convenience store in the Sathon area of Bangkok.

According to The Thaiger, the woman was shopping when the man approached her from behind and slapped her bottom forcefully.

Initially, the victim thought it was a playful prank by a friend. However, upon turning around, she was shocked to find that it was a stranger.

Embarrassment and Filing a Police Report

The woman, feeling embarrassed by the incident as other customers and store staff stared, quickly left the store. After consulting with her family, she decided to file a formal police complaint.

She did not seek compensation but wanted an apology and assurances that the man would not repeat his actions.

The complaint was filed with the Tung Maha Mek Police Station, prompting an investigation into the incident.

Lack of Apology and Dismissal of Charges

Piotr, the Polish man, was identified from CCTV footage, and police attempted to reach him through his condominium agent.

However, as reported by Nation Thailand, Piotr insisted that he had not spanked the woman ‘hard’ and argued that he had performed similar actions in nightclubs without complaints.

He also claimed he did not believe his actions were illegal, nor had he broken Thailand law, and expressed that he was soon leaving Thailand, thus questioning the need for punishment.

Legal Action and Arrest

Piotr’s refusal to apologize or acknowledge his wrongdoing led the victim to take further legal action.

The police issued an arrest warrant, and on January 14, they raided Piotr’s condominium and arrested him.

He was charged under Section 278 of Thailand’s Criminal Code for committing an indecent act against a person over 15 years old.

The charge carries a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to 200,000 baht (approx. 7,948 SGD), or both.
