A recent motorcycle theft in Johor Bahru has left a Singaporean man devastated after his bike was stolen from a basement parking lot near Jalan Trus on December 2, 2024.
The theft was captured on CCTV, and the victim has since shared the footage online, hoping the public can assist in identifying the thieves and recovering the stolen motorcycle.
Two Men Seen on CCTV
The footage begins with the two men entering a premises on a motorbike. The man in yellow appears to be casually scanning the area, and at one point, made eye contact with the CCTV camera. This brief moment adds a chilling touch to the crime, as the thieves seemed fully aware they were being recorded.
Thieves Swap Bikes
In the next part of the footage, the men are seen again—this time with two separate motorbikes.
The man in the yellow sweater is seen riding the stolen bike, while his accomplice, dressed in a red jacket, rides the original bike they arrived on.
The two thieves appeared in a hurry as they attempted to quickly leave the premises on their respective motorbikes.
A Close Call with the Touch-and-Go Card
As the thieves approach the exit, the man in the yellow sweater drops his touch-and-go card. After quickly retrieving it, he attempts to tap the card at the gate to leave the premises.
However, the card fails to register at first, causing a brief delay. His accomplice, noticing the issue, steps in to assist with the tap.
Once the card is successfully read, the two thieves waste no time and swiftly ride off, disappearing from the scene.
The Search for the Stolen Bike Continues
The victim is now seeking assistance in locating the stolen bike and identifying the thieves. In a TikTok post, he urged anyone with information about the two men or the bike’s whereabouts to come forward.
“Anyone who knows these two guys, please DM,” he shared in his post.
The victim has also requested that anyone who has seen the thieves or the stolen bike reach out directly through direct message.
